P and A Sequence LINE 3
The above image was taken in direct LED light, no backlighting, oblique camera angle. I rotated the image on the right a little so that you can clearly see a short number set reading from left to right across the crossbar of the letter A.
I read: 7 2 8 2 8 5 or possibly 3. Not clearly visible here but the 'dot' beneath the crossbar contains two characters. Will take more pics of this letter. This is the first time that I have noticed this particular instance. When the lighting kit arrives I am sure we will get an improvement, even sunlight will bring this up quite well. If you click on the image above you'll be able to see a slightly enlarged version.
First Letter P, Line 3.

Still getting used to this infernal new camera! Way advanced in comparison to the Pentax and Olympus previously used.
IABO and surrounding letters/Lines |
Microcode in both letters and the N |
Last line STG sequence. Must get better with this focus :) still viewable though
I hadn't intended to load these today, I really should have spent a little more time getting up to speed with the new Lumix. Nonetheless, I think the images show exactly what the code page was really about and apologise for the somewhat blurry images!
I won't be spending too much more time on this, it's been well proven that there is micro writing found on the code page. Another post on that subject and then I have to be getting on with other more important and pressing issues.
if you zoom in, the right hand downstroke of the A looks like it has something too
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, yes there is something there but I would caution against the use of a zoom tool. My reason for that relates to the issue of screen resolution and another and often misunderstood issue of DPI, that dots per inch that normally relates to print quality. However, whilst your screen may have thousands of pixels, the onscreen image has a relatively low DPI. The effect when you zoom in on screens is that image will get blurred very quickly. I will write a post on that over the next few days with links. Having said that, I will be taking a lot more images this weekend and will publish as soon as I have them. Still waiting for the lighting kit sadly, it's a ring LED that gives additional lighting around the focus area. This is what The Library of Congress People used some years ago to recover what looked like smudges in the Declaration of Independence, min you I suspect the cost of their equipment was considerably higher! Thanks again, I'll get some pics of both sides of the A as soon as I can.
ReplyDeleteGreat update Gordon, although, as you state the focus is fuzzy, you can see images of letters/numbers all over the place. Just a pity that a simple 'noise' remover isn't available to ensure the images stand out. Clive
