SOMERTON MAN & TIBOR KALDOR

ANOTHER VIEW...

In the coming weeks, the importance of the documents in this post will become clearer. As they stand, they certainly shed more light on Tibor Kaldor's demise and on one particular aspect of the Somerton man's condition.

Amongst the documents associated with the deaths of both men, the autopsy reports to be precise, there is evidence that points to one of the men having been exposed to radiation in the time leading up to his death. In the other case, Kaldor, a question is raised that we are not, at this stage, able to fully answer,

THE SOMERTON MAN

The Somerton Man records include the dental chart prepared by Dr. Dwyer at the autopsy, that chart shows that 18 of his teeth were missing. In a recent post we discussed the issue of Radium poisoning, in particular how it affects teeth, many sufferers lost numerous teeth.

The 1949 CSIRO Annual Report details experiments including the refining of Uranium and Thorium ores at the Fishermans Bend site. This process would concentrate Radium that emits dangerous alpha radiation. Internal exposure to such bone-seeking radioelements is known to cause numerous symptoms, tooth loss being one of them.

THE TEETH:

The image to the left is the dental chart of the man found on Somerton Beach and on whom Dr.Dwyer carried out an autopsy. You will see that in total, 18 teeth are missing.

The image on the right shows how the man's teeth would appear when he smiled. It would be a very obvious and noticeable aspect and yet no mention at all among the current discussions on the Carl Webb revelation of this very important evidence.
No one at the time had noticed or made mention of his teeth.

The CSIRO file in question contains the evidence of the experimentation, the report itself covers the year ending 30th June 1949.

You can download and read this 1949 CSIRO file here...

TIBOR KALDOR

In the case of Tibor, as you will read in the documents shown below, the Doctor who carried out the autopsy noted that Tibor's thyroid was the 'size of a tennis ball'. That is extremely large. It is known that this problem can be hereditary and starts to show up quite early in life.

It is difficult to say whether Tibor's hyperthyroidism was caused by exposure to radio-iodine or whether it has another cause. Children would be more sensitive to radiation exposure but hyperthyroidism often occurs later in life.

The PDF document below is the full Police File on Tibor Kaldor, you can scroll down to view the full page, alternatively, if you see a small arrow to the top right of the document, you can click on that and view it via Drive, there is also an option to download the file on that page.

Of particular interest in the Tibor file is his last letter which you will be ablke to read in it's entirety. What makes it very special is the fact that when I put the first paragraph of the letter, in the same format, through an online acrostic decoder ( https://www.dcode.fr/acrostic-extraction ) it produced the name DANETTA. The decoder format is shown inside the PDF. That code name is found within other documents associated with the Somerton Man case.

CORONERS REPORTS

This next PDF is quite an interesting document as it lists all of the cases reported to the Coroner during 1948. There is no case file shown for the body on Somerton Beach because the cases listed are only those that occurred in the Adelaide Metropolitan area.:

A footnote, at this time, we have yet to receive the findings of the SA Police Forensic DNA team. Until that time, we have the evidence of hair shaft DNA from Professor Abbott and Colleen Fitzpatrick. The question we are left with is this, are we certain that the body of the man examined by Dr.Dwyer is the same body that was exhumed? The only way that can be proven is by matching the dental chart taken by Dr.Dwyer at the autopsy with the dental chart of the exhumed remains. If they match thgen all is well but if they do not match then that is a major problem. The next match has to be the DNA match and resultant search for relatives. As Gerry Feltus has said, '...wait for the Police Forensics results.'

    1. Thanks for the comment, there was an Adelaide Metropolitan Police Station, the station for the city itself, I thought, possibly wrongly that this was what the report to. But iw ill look into it and let you know what I find. thanks again.

  2. Incidentally, there is more detail re the police reports to the coroner available (another 6 pages). City coroner's district shows 2 poisoning suicides requiring inquest, 5 not, remainder of state shows 2 poisoning suicides, both not requiring inquest (there is also 1 Murder poisoning in City coroner's district, but that's a female).
Sort of interesting that there is no 'Cause Unknown' or similar.

Not sure if it's worth digging through all the records to see if SM is there but not indexed, but if you sign up for family search (free) there's a copy of the Tibor police report:
