SOMERTON MAN MYSTERY

The Evidence The Facts In Detail In Depth

SOMERTON MAN CODE: WHO WROTE THE CODE PAGE? NOT THE SOMERTON MAN... UPDATED....

THE LETTER R....
VERSE 70 & CODE PAGE COMPARISON

....This comparison of the letter R found in Verse 70 which is said to have been written by the nurse Jestyn in the copy of the Rubaiyat she gave to Alf Boxall, compares well with the R found on the first line of the 'Somerton Man Code page. Looking at it again now, ( it was first published here in 2014) it really is very close with just a few minor differences, the verse 70 R was written in cursive, and thus there is a slight curve at the base where it joins the next letter E. It would be a reasonable assumption to say they were written by the same person. There is one remarkable comparison that supports this view. It's faint but it's there...

I have long held a theory that the telephone number of the nurse, X3239 found on the code page was actually written by her around the time she and Prosper moved into 90A Moseley Street. She would have been contacted by the provider, which at the time was The Postmaster General's Department I believe, to give her the number.

This links the nurse Jestyn and Alf Boxall to the code page. The Code page itself is linked to the body of the Somerton Man by virtue of the torn slip of paper which matched the book from which the code page came.

  1. A somewhat off topic comment, well more an observation. It seems that there are those in the Somerton Man blog and FB space who take delight in pointing the finger at various Police officers involved in the case and strongly inferring that they were corrupt. I find that a sad reflection on those who make those statements. When considering the role of the police, think about this. They had just come through WW2, and just a few years later, they were in the midst of a Cold war that was rapidly heating up. Detectives and special branch officers were well used to working with intelligence agencies and agents and sometimes the game was rough even fatal for some on both sides. Australia was close to a large scale insurrection thanks to the activities of the Communist Party and various Soviet rezidents and illegals. Operating in Australia at the time were the CIA, Israeli intelligence, French intelligence, MI5 and MI6 plus others. Those were the 'official' organisations, there others such as the White Russian movement or The Association, both of which by the way had their own intelligence set ups. And both of which were present and active in Adelaide in 1948.
Ami a conspiracy theorist? No, I'm a realist. Instead of making totally unfounded allegations of corruption against people who were doing there job, they should be asking why the man found on Somerton Beach had a small slip of paper that contained evidence of a known clandestine communication technique.
