THE NURSES PHONE NUMBER FOUND?
x3239
Is this the nurse's phone number? What I see from here is a string consisting of a small x followed by the number 3239. Yes, it's grainy and not that easy to make out but it is just discernable.
Importantly we know two things about the phone number on the back of the book. One is that Detective Brown told Professor Abbott that the number was in 'really tiny lettering'. The second thing that is known came in a discussion with Gerry Feltus some years ago, he told me that the number was found in the top right quartile of the page.
The area that was marked over at the top right of the page is where the numbers are to be found.
INSCRIPTION PAGE IMAGE
This next image is a close up of the illustration from the Alf Boxall copy of the Rubaiyat. You will be able to see letters and numbers written across the fez and in the details of the face, and all in miniature writing. This inscription is said to have been written by the nurse Jess.
