This blog is not a forum style, there not that many comments nor will there be, we are a source of factual information which is either fully substantiated or is described as yet to be confirmed. Mostly, it’s substantiated. You’ll find that the majority of visitors here are interested in the facts surrounding the Somerton Man case, engaging in scenario and ‘what if’ building is something I rarely do, the focus is on the facts and evidence in the case.
Standing back a little, you can see a marked leap in visitors over the last 2 years commencing in February 2023. We had a good month in December 2024, around 11000 visits, and this month as usual is lower at this point, I expect it to be around 5000 plus for the full month. The months visits range between 5000 and 12000 depending on the News cycle. The best ever month was in February 2023 which shows 45000 visits, when I dug into that, the majority came from the USA. In fact over the twelve years the US is ranked number 1, followed by Australia, Western Europe, Canada Ukraine, Russia and then a long tail down to Brazil.
As for what lies ahead, much will depend on the timing and results from the anticipated Inquest. To my knowledge, the Inquest is about identifying the Somerton Man and it is not about what he was or the circumstances surrounding his death. As many would know, I was contacted by SAPOL some time ago and asked to provide a statement and other information which I have done. The Police file will be submitted to the Coroner and it is he who decides what information will be considered in his assessment of the case. I do not know who else may have been approached by SAPOL to provide a statement.
From the perspective of the blog, I intend to keep posting information relevant to the Somerton Man/TamamShud case with additional, free in depth research being made available for those interested, more on that in the coming weeks. There will also be a book which is to be published in due course.

ReplyDeleteNo names, no pack drill, just a fellow blogger. I know how hard blogging as opposed to running a forum can be. Hours upon hours researching and testing information and sources not for the amateur that’s for sure. To keep it up for 12 years is a real achievement.All the best!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all, I appreciate the support without it we wouldn’t be here. What interests me is that we still have a good following and there is still a healthy level of interest in the case. In the coming 12 months there will be another level of information available on request and at no cost for the serious researcher, there is a series of formal research papers covering a number aspects of the case which I hope will be of interest. Thanks again, not too sure about another 12 years though :)
