SOMERTON MAN MYSTERY: THE TRUTH AND THE PROOF....THESE PHOTOS DON'T LIE... UPDATED 19th May 2023. THE HOAX?

...At first glance, there's nothing remarkable about this photograph. It's the left ear of the Somerton Man bust. A very clear and distinct shape. But something is not quite right...

Of passing interest is that there are far fewer images of the left ear of the bust online than there are of the right.

Below are more images showing the left ear but this time they are of Carl Webb both younger and older plus added, for comparison's sake, the photograph of the Somerton Man's left ear:

This image is from the header of this blog. In it, you can see the sameness of the left ear of both Carl Webb Older and Carl Webb Junior. Both Carl's images show a clearly 'tapered' outer helix shape whereas the left ear of the Somerton Man has a 'square' shaped lobe and no sign of the gradual taper which is obvious from the image comparisons. You can also see that the indentation to the inner helix is higher up in Car;s ear as opposed to being rather flatter and further down the helix on the Somerton Man.

Professor Abbot commented recently that the difference in shape 'Can be explained by the fact that our ears change shape as we age'. That's interesting and I would really like to hear the explanation which should include reference to the fact that it is only the lobe that grows longer and not other aspects of the ear that change. I suspect he now wishes he had not said that as you will see.

But, that's by the by for our purpose today. Let's look at just how the left ear of the plaster bust compares to Carl's left ear:

The ears are remarkably similar in shape, and the tapered outer helix is clear in each example. Not only that, but we can also see that the indented inner helix is shown in the same position as indicated. There is a slightly different angle for this photo but that does not alter the shape comparisons to ant significant degree.

Am I arguing that the bust was made from the head of Carl Webb? Yes, exactly that. The bust I believe was built on the body of Carl Webb.

But, and it is an enormous, 'BUT!', the left ear of the bust does not match the left ear of the Somerton Man:

So here's the proof that whilst the bust may have been built around Carl Webb, the evidence clearly tells us that the man in the bust was not the Somerton Man.

I am personally so sure of this that I would state that one reason for the delay in the Police issuing their forensic findings is that the dental chart of the exhumed remains does not match the original dental chart of the Somerton Man as drawn by Dr. Dwyer at the autopsy. They simply cannot match, they are from two different people...

(In the interviews I had with Paul Lawson, the man who made the bust, he went to great lengths to tell me that he had used the post-autopsy photographs to shape the face on the bust because the face on the body he was working on did not look like that of the Somerton Man. He used a special wax to build the model of the ears. He was a man of great integrity and he told me what he could.)

For those who emailed and by way of clarification, the implications of this find are far-reaching.

Let's start with Professor Abbot's statement that whilst Carl Webb's ear is different, 'This can be explained by the fact that our ears change as we age'. Is he seriously suggesting that Carl Webbs left ear changed from being a tapered ear to being a 'squared off' joined ear and then back to a tapered left ear as seen in the image above? How does he explain that the same left ear mysteriously changed back to being tapered in the image of the plaster bust?

Is it a hoax on behalf of Professor Abbott or is it that he really doesn't know or even notice the difference, or is there some other reason? What else could it be? His previous assertions regarding the Somerton Man being the grandfather of his wife were made despite there being absolute photographic and documentary proof to the contrary...

And the press/media and one sad excuse for a blog, (Bless 'im) are sheepishly following whatever is uttered, grinding out anything that might smother the real truth, they are an embarrassment. A message for them, the truth will always survive.

‘Truth is incontrovertible. Panic may resent it. Ignorance may deride it. Malice may distort it. But there it is.’ Winston Spencer Churchill

And one other thing, and in all fairness to the media, I do know of at least one other media team who are actively reassessing their views on the professor's claims.

I remember Prof Abbott quoting Prof Cleland in saying the reason the lividity in the body was at odds with the position it was found in could be ‘easily explained’ … what he forgot to mention is that Professor Cleland is on record as saying it could be easily explained if he died with his head on a pillow.

Pamela Lyndon Travers, the famed author of the Mary Poppins novel and suggested by one 'guru' as the likely motivation for the moniker adopted by yet another erstwhile guru, Poppins. Guru number one spoke of how Travers had written her book (later outstandingly successful movie) in a cottage in the UK. Quite true, she did but he missed the Australian connection. You see Travers was Australian, born in Maryborough in SE Queensland. A delightful regional city known for its heritage buildings one of which was a bank above which Mary and her family lived by virtue of her father being the manager of the said bank. Strange how none of the supposed Australian commenter missed out on that don't you think? Then there's the American showman with a connection to Bundaberg and later Prahran, a steamy tale to all accounts.
Must dash so 'toodle pip!' I think is the appropriate term for POHMs
