RUBAIYAT OF OMAR KHAYYAM
VERSE 23...
ANOTHER POISONING DEATH LINKED...
I first found this some time ago and was not going to publish it for a little while, but for reasons that may become obvious later, I have decided to post it today.
Followers of this blog will know that the first instance of the DANETTA code was uncovered in the first paragraph of Tibor Kaldor's last letter, he's the man that was found dead in a Hindley Street, Adelaide Hotel, cause of death was poisoning, two weeks after the finding of the man on Somerton Beach.
In that case, the code was found using an online acrostic decoder. It worked through the logic of the decoder which effectively used sequentially ordered letters to form the word DANETTA. The letters and their relative number sequences are located by their position in a line or in a word, see below.
Since then, the same DANETTA codeword has been found in the Boxall Rubiyat Verse 70 inscription and in the 'SOMERTON MAN CODE PAGE' when arranged into the 7 line format with each line beginning with the letter M.

THE DANETTA CODE WORD: VERSE 23
In this instance as shown in the image at the head of the post, you can see the logically arranged and numerically sequenced letters as numbered:
1. D, line 3, first letter in DUST reading left to right
2. A, line 5, second letter in SANS reading left to right
3. N, line 5, third letter in SANS reading left to right
4. E, line 5, fourth letter in WINE reading left to right
5. T, line 4, fifth letter in the line reading right to left
6. T, line 4, sixth letter in the line reading right to left
7. A, line 2, seventh letter in the line reading right to left
THE GEORGE HAYYIM MARSHALL CASE( Yosef Chaim Saul ben Yisroel.)
What is really interesting about this is that the Verse 23 in the Methuen 7th edition of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, which in turn was found on the chest of the decomposing body of GEORGE HAYYAM MARSHALL. The verse had been marked with a pencil.
His body was found in Ashton Park overlooking Taylor's Bay, Mosman on 3rd June 1945. This was just a short distance from the nurse Jestyn's home at that time. George had died of poisoning, his estimated date of death was May 21st 1945.
We now have linked, one way or another, through the Rubaiyat:
1. The death by poisoning of George Marshall (Verse 23)
2. The death by poisoning of the Somerton Man (Somerton Man Code format & Verse 70)
3. The death by poisoning of Tibor Kaldor ( Acrostic decoder, later linked)
There will be more on this matter in an upcoming chapter of THE SOMERTON MAN BOOK on this blog.

This could be a coinky dink. It sort of depends on just how many verses in the ROK you can find the same 'codeword' in
ReplyDeleteHere's the thing, to get two verses from the Rubaiyat with each containing a book code or acrostic code that spells out the same codeword DANETTA and that codeword matches one that was thrown up by an online decoder which related to the death of a man by poisoning in Adelaide just two weeks after the death of the Somerton Man by poisoning 35 minutes away from the Adelaide event, I think that alone is pushing the boundary of coincidence just a bit far. Now add the finding of another ROK but this time in May 1945 this one is found with the body of a man again who died by poisoning and again with the same formatted codeword of DANETTA in a page of the book opened at a verse that carried the codeword and had it marked in pencil.
ReplyDeleteAnother issue, The Somerton Man was found just a 100 metres or so from the home of the nurse Jestyn, Tibor Kaldor was found in a hotel in Hindley Street in Adelaide about 150 metres from where Jestyn and her husband had a business premises.
The final dead man was found a short bus ride from where the nurse lived in Mosman, and just 2 bays away from where Alf Boxall was stationed near Clifton Gardens.
Yes, you're quite right. So I did the exercise on just how many verses had the codeword in the format described. I found 4 verses that had DANETTA in either the same or similar formats. Verse 23 and verse 70 we already know about. The other two, well maybe they will turn up in the future or maybe not.
So is it possible that it's coincidence? Yes, you wouldn't rule it out but you would sure as hell want to know a lot more about it before you did that.
Couldn't you have used the last letter on the last line to start the name Danetta? That way it would have flowed from line 6 to line 5, line 4 and then line 1?
ReplyDeleteThanks Dai, yes, you could start with the last d on the last line, it would make more sense that way. It's probably the way it was done when you think about it.
ReplyDeleteA correction, Jestyn's house was more like 600 or 700 metres away from the Beach scene, I had actually meant to say 'several hundred meters away'. There you go, long hours being put in at the moment, another chapter on the way tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteAnother quite interesting aspect in the Methuen 7th edition verse 23 shown above is the 'shadow' that appears behind some of the letters.
ReplyDeleteLine 1. The word 'Of' has a shadow behind both letters, a faint shadow behind the W in 'what' and the Y in 'yet'
Skip to Line 3: The D and U in 'dust', next the d,c,e.n.d in 'Descend' and the semi colon at the end of that line is shadowed.
Line 4. The third occurrence of the word 'dust' both the d and t in this word have shadows, the comma after it looks to be similar. the t and o in 'to' are shadowed as are the L and the e in the word 'lie' and the final comma after the word 'lie'
Line 5. The letter S in 'Singer' has a shadow
Bringing them together we have the letters:
OFWY DUDCEND; DT, TOLE, All up including punctuation we have 20 characters. Looking again at the shadows, are they pencil marks? Why are the shadows only behind some of the letters? Could be quite innocent of course...
Any code breaking takers?
