SOMERTON MAN MYSTERY: THE HANDLER AND THE SPY. THE FINAL PROOF PART 2. FORENSIC IMAGES & A DISCOVERY

There's a lot to cover in this post, it includes a never before seen image of what appears to be evidence of the possible presence of 'secret inks'

Let's make a start with some comparisons of forensically analysed images of the Boxall Rubaiyat and a copy of the same edition in my possession.

FORENSIC IMAGE COMPARISONS

1. COMPARISON OF THE INSCRIPTION PAGE AND A BLANK VERSION//CRAMER COPY

You can immediately see that the Boxall copy of the inscription page in the left literally 'lights up' in comparison to the blank version which is my copy of exactly the same edition. The software has detected significant differences between the two images. We will take a much closer look at that left-hand image shortly.

2. COMPARISON OF THE TITLE PAGES, BOXALL/CRAMER COPY

On the left is the Boxall copy and on the right is my own copy of the exact same edition. Once again you can see how much brighter the Boxall image of the title page is. The analysis software has detected differences in the makeup of these two images.

3. THE ILLUSTRATION IMAGE ON THE INSCRIPTION PAGE.

THE FORENSIC IMAGE QUESTION.

Earlier in this post, I mentioned the possibility that there are traces of 'secret inks' on the Boxall inscription page. Let's take a closer look:

You should be able to see a faintly colored area beneath the illustration in this forensic view which showed some unusual marking patterns. These markings do not appear on my copy of the same edition of the ROK. I was able to extract a clearer view as you can see below:

There appear to be numbers and letters within the darker area but they are not as clear as I would like. Is it secret ink or something else? I will spend more time on this and update you.
