THE EVIDENCE, PART 2.
Hidden in Plain Sight...
ALF BOXALL VERSE 70 COPY, THE 2 ON LEFT AND MARKED. MY COPY OF THE SAME EDITION IS THE 3rd IMAGE ON THE RIGHT. |
THESE IMAGES ARE BEST VIEWED ON YOUR SMARTPHONE
DUE TO HIGHER RESOLUTION SCREENS
This is an image of the top left corner of the Alf Boxall Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, I noticed something unusual whilst examining the page and decided to invert it to see if it made a difference, so this image was taken is looking down the page from the top. I have highlighted 4 sections for you to review.
For comparison, the image on the right, is the exact same edition of the Rubaiyat as the Boxall one, that I own and it was taken from the same perspective. If you turn the image the right side up you can barely see the tiny code strings. The technique of altering perspectives is similar to whats been found here, it has been around for hundreds of years, it's called 'ANAMORPHOSIS', read more here.... A fine example is a Painting called The Ambassadors, it has a hidden skull within it.
Don't 'zoom in' to this image, the best view on-screen is to look at it at a normal distance and if you wear glasses, you will need them. Alternatively, you can download the image and print it out at the best quality, preferably on a 'bleed-proof' paper. You should print it out using a good quality inkjet printer. Laser printers use plastic colouring the plastic is heated to melting point to produce the print, the heating process can disturb finer lines and markings as found on these and other images on this blog.
To download these images, simply right-click on them and choose download.
For the record, these are plain photographs taken in good lighting with a macro/close up lens. (There are some people who insist on using the words 'Zoom in' and that is not what you do when examining documents.)
It is a known fact that some publishers, Collins included, produced special-purpose runs of certain books for the intelligence services. This appears to be an example of one of them and as such this may be another world first, I have never actually seen an example of this kind of concealment in a published book before and I have searched for one.
THE HAY BANKNOTES
The Hay banknotes were designed by Dunera Internee, George A Teltscher, a one-time currency designer who was originally from Austria before escaping to the UK.
He along with 2500 other Jewish males were arrested in the UK and deported to Australia for internment in September 1941.
Most interestingly, a fellow internee to George Teltscher from the Hay and later Tatura internment camps, was a man called TIBOR KALDOR. This man was found dead, poisoned in fact, in the Victoria Hotel, Hindley Street, Adelaide,2 weeks to the day after the body of the man was found on Somerton Beach. (Thanks to Clive Turner for his role in first finding and then following up on this Man)

These intricately designed notes were released into the Hay camp in March 1942, they were available in3 denominations, Sixpence, One Shilling and Two Shillings. The NSW Police service confiscated these notes a few weeks later. George Teltscher was released around August 1942 and returned to the UK. The next record of George was not until 1947 when he took up a teaching post in London.
You'll find more about these notes here...
Back to the big question, the answer is YES, Alf Boxall and Jestyn were spies...
The evidence of the micro written code both within the words of the handwritten Verse 70 and now the revelation of the same style of code written on the book cover is hard to refute.
However you look at it, this is a superb example of tradecraft, it's awesome! And to make it even better it was found by this blog.
SPYCAST
I was looking for ways that would enhance the experience of visitors to this blog, and so I set about searching the internet for sources of quality materials by way of podcasts or videos that relate to either the methods used in the SM case, the Cold War and Tradecraft. Here's the first of what I believe will be an informative set of relevant information:
SPY Historian Alexis Albion sat down with current SPY Historian Vince Houghton to discuss WWII and early Cold War nuclear intelligence, and Houghton’s new book The Nuclear Spies: America’s Atomic Intelligence Operation against Hitler and Stalin.
