Ermakov Victor Andreevich
Image From Yandex Face Matching
This image kindly sent in anonymously, many thanks, Ermakov Viktor Andreevich is all we have at this time. The person ran an image of Fedosimov through the Yandex face matching site and this was amongst the results. There are many images in the results but this one stood out.
If it is the man we know as Fedosimov in younger years, then we may have something of value. Hopefully, we will be able to track more information on this man and as and when information comes to hand it will be published.
On an aside, the 'halo' effect around Fedosimov's nose and mouth, we think we now know where it came from, will post shortly on that.

ReplyDeletethanks for the link, very interesting. Is there a chance that we can find a date against this name?
ReplyDeleteI see an Aleksandr Ivanovich Ermakov amongst the names as an a leading GRU officer. For those following the GRU is the main directorate for foreign intelligence and so this man could be of interest.
Found a Viktor Fedorovich Ermakov, he was a General in command of the 40th Army Division, daste was 1982 to 1983. I would doubt that this is the same man, slightly different name and the pic we have looks to be mid 1920s. Could be related but the surname ERMAKOV is very common in Russia, ranked at 226th or 1 name in 2300.
ReplyDeleteThis might be him.
ReplyDeleteRight age. Russian translation has the same name phonetically, but instead of ee it comes out as eye, which would be the same vowel sound.

If so, he's not your man.
Agreed, not the man
DeleteAnother name match. This time correct spelling.
ReplyDeleteSentenced 1933. Died 1936. Website has mistakenly put the death date in the birthdate.

Exact name match but apparently killed in 1936. Wonder if records like that were creatively 'created'?
ReplyDeleteIt's a very flimsy record. I think it's one of them self create sites for a directory, but at least it gives us a clue as to where to look next court records, records from Soviet purges etc 1933. Soviet prison records 1933 etc. pre 1933 GRU and NKVD files. Maybe a sentce in absentia? Like Trotsky
DeleteWhat an interesting thought. I wonder if that's how they laundered their people through to new identities?
ReplyDelete1936 onwards would've provided Stalin with a lot of oppertunities to rebirth identity papers
