PARTIAL TRAVEL MOVEMENTS
FOR PAVEL
This is a shortlist of travel undertaken by Pavel during the period 1939 to 1948. As you will see there is only one outbound record with 4 inbound. The records, at this stage at least, are incomplete. You will also note some variations in the spelling of Pavels name, this could be down to immigration department mistakes or possibly, but not likely, deliberate.
With sincere thanks to Byron Devison for his help and input in creating this post.

3. 1944

5. 1948
Outbound, New York, July 31st 1948, POBEDA to Odessa. Pavel Fedosimov. He is not accompanied by Vera Fedosimova. There is a Vera Sholoukhova on the manifest. Manifest was not certificated, that means that the list was taken as being accurate without being checked. Without Certification, we cannot assume that Pavel boarded the Pobeda.
1941
Mentioned in Dept Immigration and Naturalisation. Paul Fedossimov, 6th February 1941. AMTORG TRADING COMPANY. File BIGAMY
We will be adding some of the Vassiliev notes to this timeline, they describe Pavel's time in active service in Germany. In particular, they cover his setting up of espionage and spy networks in that country.
In the near future we will have a much clearer picture of Pavel and his activities from the late 1930s through the war years and the post-war years leading up to July 31st 1948.

interesting no Vera F (altjough she could've gone before or after). I think it's unlikely the Vera on the manifest is his wife.
ReplyDeleteThere are no other records or mention of Vera Fedosimov leaving the US since her last documented arrival. I would refer ou to the mention of 'Bigamy' elsewhere in this post, 1941. It could be that Vera had to revert back to her maiden name.
ReplyDeleteThe fire on board the Pobeda took the lives of 40 passengers and 2 crew. TO this point we have not been able to locate a list of victims nor survivors. That information could be useful.
