Christmas Greetings

An old desk with files, a lamp and a foutain pen with Christmas decrorations scattered around

Usually when we meet here, we're all knee-deep in ciphers, tradecraft, and the dusty archives of the Cold War. The days are spent looking for the tiniest threads of evidence in a tapestry that has been tangled for way too long. But not today, It's a time to push the files aside, cap the fountain pen, and take a moment or three to look up from the computers, cameras and the magnifying glass. It has been a year of intense research and new discoveries, but as the year gets close to turning, it is time to focus on something far less mysterious, but infinitely more important; goodwill.

Whether you're in Adelaide, Sao Paulo or watching the snow fall in the Northern hemisphere, this season is a reminder that while we chase ghosts of the past, we have to cherish the people who are here in our world right now. Our families and our friends.

I extend a  heartfelt Merry Christmas to everyone who has stopped by this blog in 2025. To the dedicated researchers who share their insights on this blog or on others and help turn the wheels of this investigation: thank you. Your passion is what keeps the flame alive.

I also want to extend those same wishes to those who perhaps see things differently. In a field as complex as this, disagreements are inevitable. Passions can run high, theories clash, and words can sometimes be sharp. But the spirit of Christmas is about laying down arms, or in our case, laying down our arguments. It is a time to put all of that aside, to recognize our shared humanity, and wish each other well, regardless of which side of the debate you sit.

Wherever you are, and whoever you're with, I hope you have a safe, blessed, peaceful, and joyous Christmas. Take a breath, enjoy the festivities and time with the special people in our lives

Merry Christmas, Everyone!
