The Webb Chapter Is Closed
& Now For The Road Ahead

I wanted to chat and explain what's happening, it's
 a reset on where we are and a look at where we're heading next.

We've spent a lot of time recently digging deep into the Carl 'Charles' Webb identification claim. It’s been a long and complicated road, but after going through all the evidence, we're in a position now where we can finally close the book on it. To be honest, after everything we've looked at, it's clear the whole claim was on shaky ground from the very beginning.

When we really got into the weeds, we found some serious problems. For starters, the whole process behind making the plaster bust was flawed. But the real deal-breaker? That tiny, 50mm rootless shaft of hair that the DNA test was based on. The biggest issue is that there’s absolutely no provenance for it. No one can prove where it really came from, and there's no verifiable timeline or chain of custody. In any serious investigation, that’s just not good enough.

So, while that door is closing, a much bigger, and frankly, more fascinating one is swinging wide open.

A Renewed Focus: Espionage

From now on, we're head-first into the part of the mystery that’s always been at the heart of my personal view, it's been in the shadows too long. 

The deep and complex espionage aspects of the Somerton Man case has a huge and intriguing story to tell

I want to give you a heads-up on what this means for our research. We're going to be looking at:

• Concealed Writing: We’ll be exploring the numerous and incredible discoveries of hidden, secret writing, codes and ciphers found within the case itself and in connected cases. We'll be talking about real-life examples of tradecraft that will amaze you and we'll be referencing and quoting similar cases.
  
  
• The Intelligence Services: We’ll be digging into the possible involvement of the big players, specifically Australian Military Intelligence, MI5, MI6, OSS and CIA. Did they infiltrate the Communist Party or Soviet Intelligence itself? Were they active in Adelaide, Melbourne and elsewhere in Australia at the relevant times? Were any of the people in our story their assets, their targets, or even their own?
  
  
• The Bigger Picture: We'll be taking a really close look into the socio-political backdrop of post-war Australia. The Cold War was just kicking off, the Woomera Rocket Range was being built nearby. and yes, they were testing top secret rocket equipment there prior to 1948. this was a tense and crucial time, and Adelaide was right in the middle of it.

This is going to be a deep and wide-ranging research and investigation task. We have a mountain of evidence  already and more to gather, it's a very complex web to untangle. The first post in this series is already under construction and it has more than a few surprises!
