...Catching up on the latest news in the Somerton Man space, I came across this article about the South Australian mystery on Crime Reads:
crimereads.com
Amongst other things, the article describes the 2021 book by Kerry Greenwood, a well-known name in these circles who in 2012 released her 'Tamam Shud: The Somerton Man Mystery' factual account of the story.
Her latest book is not entirely fact-based but promises an interesting read. In it, she describes the journey of a one-time French Resistance fighter who visits Adelaide and stumbles across the body of the Somerton Man and finds that the torn slip contains a secret message. It sounds familiar :).
Anyway, have a read, it is an interesting book and well-written by an established authority on the Somerton Man case it's worth the small investment and I will certainly be getting a copy.

DeleteThank you for the amazing research and continued facts. This case continues to be fascinating. Found a 1909 edition of the Rubá’iyát in an antique store over the weekend and even though it was not a relevant edition, reading through it feels like stepping into a piece of the story.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate, it’s a fascinating story and there’s more to come. Like you I always look in old book shops and market stalls, you never know what you’ll find. Thanks again for your kind comments and keep stopping by, a few interesting posts in the pipeline.
