FEDOSIMOV, ANOTHER PHOTO EMERGES

SOURCED FROM LIBRARY OF CONGRESS

If you recall, the original image found of Fedosimov was in 2016? Maybe a little later. The photo above, whilst basically the same, includes more detail. For example, each man has a briefcase and you get to see just a little of Pavel's shoe, left foot, what big hands he has.

The photo shows some staining and unusual marks but what caught my attention, in particular, is the man standing to the left of the shot who appears to be using a movie camera. The search is on to see if we can dig that clip out from an archive somewhere.

For the record, the photograph above was found under 'Nikolai Novikov' with no mention of Fedosimov in the file title.

I couldn't resist this animation, AI working its magic:

  1. Looks like same photo just not cropped (and the one you found first seems to have detail behind Novikov rubbed out - but that might be a result of the staining). Might be wrong, but the location and shape of the hands, expressions on face and shoulder masking the pilot behind look pretty well exactly the same (hard to be certain they're exactly the same, but it's hard to conclusively discern a difference - other than the missing hat on the man behind)

  2. Yes, it was I think the original image which was later cropped. The additions in this image include the briefcases and the man to the left who appears to be filming the pair, at the base we get a tantalising glompse of Fedosimovs' shoes but not enough to judge the size. The ideal would be that we get a copy of that film from one of the archives but I am not holding my breath on that.
