...CONTINUING THE SEARCH FOR TRUTH...
We are the leading fact, evidence-based, and authoritative blog on the Somerton Man case.
The TAMAM SHUD case, all began with the discovery of the body of a man on Somerton Beach, South Australia on Dec. 1st 1948. He had been poisoned. No identification was found on the man or at the scene, and there were no signs of violence. The sand around the body was undisturbed.
The discovery of secret codes and a local telephone number add to this enduring mystery,
UNVEILING THE TRUTHS OF THE SOMERTON MAN CASE
Our blog's journey began in 2013, springing from my deep involvement with Professor Derek Abbot's Facebook page, 'The World Search For A Rare Copy of The Rubaiyat Of Omar Khayyam'. I joined this vibrant community in late 2009 and had the privilege to engage in enlightening discussions with leading researchers of the Somerton Man mystery. Notably, my exchanges with ex-Detective Sergeant Gerry Feltus, who once held the Somerton Man case file as a Cold Case, left a profound impression. Gerry's integrity and keen attention to detail stood out; a true embodiment of an 'Old School' copper deserving of utmost respect. I owe a great deal to Gerry and to the members of the Inner Sanctum Facebook group that spun off from the initial FB pages. We were also privileged to have numerous discussions with the late Paul Lawson, another good man of integrity. Paul shared some significant facts about his knowledge of the case and the making of the plaster bust. Those details have been shared with SAPOL.
I also hold in high regard the original investigators from 1948 and beyond. Facing challenges that we can scarcely imagine today, they undoubtedly gave their best, under difficult circumstances to unravel the mystery.
On January 21st, 2013, our blog took its first steps into the digital world. Over the years, we've been fortunate to welcome thousands of readers. By March 2024, we celebrated a significant milestone, surpassing 1 million page views and penning 899 insightful posts.
Our inaugural post delved into 'micro writing', a claim and accompanying evidence that has stood firm.
As we write this, we eagerly anticipate unveiling even more substantial evidence. Five years ago, we shared the initial decoded words from a previously hidden code. Since then, further discoveries have been revealed including the finding of a coded name DANETTA in TIBOR KALDOR's last letter and elsewhere.
Additionally, we identified three different encryption methods including the HILL CIPHER, MORBIT CIPHER, and recently the NIHILIST CIPHER, a tool once used by Soviet agents in WW2.
Amid the diverse theories surrounding the Somerton Man – from the 'rare' ear type, anodontia to the Love Child hypothesis and erroneous DNA connections – we remain committed to the pursuit of truth. Recently, the Carl 'Charles' Webb theory has emerged, and though it awaits concrete substantiation it is not something that this blog supports.
Many thanks to all who visit these pages, your support and encouragement means a great deal.
Some brand new images using a better UV light source, more below:
The image above shows some interesting background/faded letters and numbers. Note that inside the lower part of the letter G there appears to be a slightly curved word, hard to make out.
Within the shape of the R and G you can see small letters and numbers, the top of the G is reasonably clear.
Even the 'crossed' lines conatin micro numbers. There is more work to do on the latest batch but I hope you can make out the letters and numbers even though they are a little shaded. The letter 'I' at the bottom of the image above has some good examples as does the the stroke through the 'Q'.
It is only a question of time before we get every letter and it's contents improved and more visible.
An interesting development with the 'crossed out' second line, it looks as though it may not have been crossed out but placed there earlier and then written over. More to do and will post on that next.
In the first image we are looking at the sequence MSTG from the last line of the Code Page. In particular you should be able to see letters/numbers in the upright of the M and the lower part of the S
If you allow your eyes to focus on this image you should be able to see numbers running from left to right within the letter G, bear in mind they are around .4 mm in height so quite small. Looking at the other letters, the S and T, you may be able to make out some outlines.
Hoping to get some better equipment in the next month or two which should give a sharper result.
Accessing Hidden Micro Writing In the Somerton Man Code Page
This is an overview without audio and it should be noted that in the clip I use the full code page.
You would find it better if you simply use a standard digital camera to take a close up image of a group of any 3 or 4 letters from the code in high resolution and using a fairly strong back light.
Next, load those images to your computer and then apply the tools shown in this clip adjusting the Hardness and Tolerance controls if needed,
Note that each individual letter on the code page has dark and lighter shades of grey.
The process used is aimed at making the lighter shades even lighter by using the colour change tool,
This has the effect of adding greater contrast to the darker areas which reveal the hidden micro codes.
This is a very basic method and I use other tools within the editing package plus I print out images at various stages for further close up examination.
Well, in the beginning of this blog, I set out to show everyone what the code page contained, I have decided to post the initial result of an image of the code page and just what it was that really aroused my curiosity.
I suggest that you download this image from here, look carefully at each letter and each line in turn. Starting from the first letter M which has a number of fairly clear letters and numbers. The first line is well laden with just the G being less clear.
Look now at the line through line 2 as well as the individual letters, line 3 is less clear but not without interest.
The two crosse lines are choc full of code, remember this is micro written so it's very small. Having said that the lower crossed line has some very clear numbers.
Almost every letter in line 4 bears code that is reasonably visible.
Line 5 and the left upright of the V near the top shows some numbers/letters., look closely at the SAMS and the T. Both the G and A carry good examples. Right down to the last underscore beneath the AR. The AR for the record was something I found some time ago and published it as part of a Pro Sign.
I will get back on this later in the week and I will mark up some specifics. As it is I think there's enough for a competent code person to make a start on what all these letters and numbers may mean and there's more to come.
This image was achieved using a simple and free image editing tool which comes complete with a set of tools that enable you to enhance and massage an image. The tool is Paint.net but you could also use GIMP or if you have the budget, Photoshop.
You may recall the discovery of the letters and numbers on the code page just beneath the last two letters of the code, at the time I thought that the letters and numbers could have been from a Bulgarian Airline as it seemed to be a close match to a TABSO airline flight number and ticket from Sofia to London.
When you look close at what is admittedly a difficult image to view, the letters LZ are reasonably clear but the numbers seem to be 1556. What if it was misread in the first instance and it should, in fact, be 551 and then not a 6 but a letter G? That could easily be misread.
The picture below tells the story.
Sea Vampire Jet Fighter
The date was December 3rd 1945 and the location was an aircraft carrier, HMS OCEAN, a Royal Navy craft, situated just off the Isle of Wight. The occasion was the first-ever landing of a jet aircraft on a carrier, the Vampire, the fastes jet fighter in the world at the time, bears the registration number LZ551G.
Interestingly, The Ocean was originally destined to join the RAN fleet but there was a sudden change of plan.
How is it that we have this number from a Royal Navy event and the 283X found in the last line which shows up in top secret Admiralty messages as per a recent post? (Read more here..)
On top of that the last post shows the letters AVO beneath the first letter M on the code page, as follower Clive points out, that could be part of the word AVON, which at that time was a top secret and still under development Jet Engine which was meant to be a replacement for the Nene engine which powered the Vampire jet after the initial 'Goblin' engine. As it happens, the AVON engine was used in the Canberra jet bomber after extended development. Read more here.
Interestingly, thanks again to Clive, a long lost article from the Truth dated August 2nd 1942 by him which has a name of great interest, a Mr. P. Thompson, included in it and associated with the then Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation factory in Sydney with a strong link to a well known communist organiser, a friendship in fact.Trove Link here. What do you make of this Pete Bowes?
You can view the video of the landing here, a special moment in Naval history:
There is some further verification things to happen including ensuring we have the right name, one wonders what the effect of this revelation could be? Comments are very welcome
Cleaned Image of Last Line End Shows Clear Writing and a Name:
Is it a name? Or is it part of a word? Looks to be like the word/name KING.
For those interested, I used the InkH recovery method of bleaching the dark area adjacent to the last two letters of the last line being AR and underscore as per the post earlier last year on the likelihood of the larger letters on the page being radio operators 'Pro Signs'. What's your take? Click on the images to view enlarged versions..
At the other end of the page around the M & R, there's more:
I picked out and marked only the more clear instances, there are others as you will probably see in the image above. Note that the use of bleach makes the paper very fragile. Click on the image to view an enlarged version..
