And she wasn't married either-she certainly didn't lack the nerve and, again, I think she did have friends behind the scenes. A few variations to consider but it looks to me that 53 was the most favoured. Given that then it would have been very possible but it would be as well to check her handwriting again. It's quite conceivable that there was another person who actually wrote the code within the letters. Having said that I'll qualify it a little. I have trained a number of people in the technique and have been surprised how quickly some catch on, even at 10 years old they are able to write at .4mm without a problem. The real skill is in following a shape as in complex letter shapes and retaining consistency. I wouldn't be game to say that people have to be born with it but it does seem that if Alf was a sketching man then he would have good fine motor skills and therefore would have no problem thick fingers or not. It is the fine motor skill plus reasonable eyesight that are the key attributes in my view. Did you notice that Alf wasn't wearing glasses in the Littlemore interview?Gordon332https://www.blogger.com/profile/17690592260936410432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2649149095048346117.post-13006238325042336662015-09-14T14:10:47.455+10:002015-09-14T14:10:47.455+10:00Gordon: you say that the level of skill is astonis...Gordon: you say that the level of skill is astonishing, yet we have a young nurse in training and a middle aged, ham-fisted, thick-fingered mechanic. Neither stereotype seems likely to be able to have such a degree of skill unless they were born with it.<br />Which reminds me of a small treasure of information DA sent me in earlier days. He wrote that Alf Boxall was a sketcher, and quite a good one.<br />DA may even have a couple of sketches handy for a good mate, something for his blog.<br />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
