The Somerton Man: Torn Piece High Resolution Images

Just time for a very quick post this morning, Below you will see some very high resolution, close-up images of the torn piece and also an image that was titled 'book', not sure which 'book' that might be but it certainly bears a strong resemblance to the fibre make-up of the torn piece itself.

In the image above, pay particular attention to the apparent wear marks to the left of each stroke on each letter. The last letter M is very interesting under examination. With regards to the wear marks, it does seem unusual that they appear to be restricted to the left side strokes, still examining this and other images.

  1. I remember that at the inquest a statement was made that the slip of paper had only been recently put into the pocket, and had not been put through a laundry process.

  2. Hi Gordon, can you say where these images came from, or where you found them? Thanks, Nick.

    1. Hi Nick, They're certainly more than interesting aren't they? Lots of detail and worth examining. The I would prefer not to publish the name of the source, what I can say is that I have had these images for some months and that I traced the site where they were held from a URL. The URL concerned was found on a blog page as the result of a blogger publishing an image from the case which was linked. I followed the link to find images and a lot more information that was stored there. It would be reasonable to assume that the blogger concerned has access to the same information.

The site itself belongs to Adelaide University and is run by Professor Abbott. So in a way the information was made public but hidden in plain sight so to speak.

    1. Hi Pete, In all fairness I can't disclose anything about the blogger concerned. It is possible that they were given the link and knew nothing about what else there was to be found on that URL.

  4. Gordon, good work, can you also have a look at the sentences "Barbie" found on the Omar Code Page, not on the letters but on the background. She used her I phone and filters if you remember. Some of the sentences I have from her I have photocopied, they read: "God has spoken." far left hand side towards the top of the page. "Tell him my name is Robert and I'm his daddy" Down a bit left hand side of page. "I'll kill you and I mean it" Right at the top above the first line of the code. this is rather hard to see as its mixed in with some very dark markings. Great work Gordon, miss your input, Margaret H
